I am fairly new to believing in Life After Death - in fact, it is probably only because of my girlfriend that I have even opened up my mind enough to think about it. However, I am curious....how did other people get to believe? Do people really see ghosts? I must say that I never have - but I have seen things that I can't explain which make me think there must be more to life than death.
I'm curious to hear from others.

I believe because really deep down inside me I 'just know' that others who have gone before me are watching over me. I felt like this even before I started investigating spiritualist churches.
I have always been a Christian, believing in God and His son Jesus Christ. My beliefs tie in with this promise of eternal life.
I have recently started to 'see' spirit and feel their prescence on occasions. I also had a wonderful experience where I was at someones house and I heard and felt a spirit dog around me which I sensed was an Alsation type. I even touched it and my finger accidentially went inside its jowl, and when I looked at my finger it was actually wet ! Totally blew me away that one. I told the person who I was with and he dissapeared into another room and brought back a doggy birth certificate of his late dog, and the birth date on the certificate was the same as the date that the incident had taken place.
Why do I believe? Well because in my heart I know that it is true..........there is an afterlife, and I look forward to meeting all those people who have gone before me who I presently miss so much.

I sense spirit through feelings and other senses. I do not see as clear as I could because my wee brain couldnt take it. I used to hear them alot until I was told that this wasnt "normal" at high school. So...
I beleive in an afterlife because I sense those that have gone before. I remember being there myself before I chose to be born.
Anyone watching that new programme on ITV Afterlife? Jings it was a bit scary last week with Daniel 2. AAAARGH! I was hiding behind the sofa. Guess thats why I do not see a full image as I would poop myself if I saw something as upsetting as that poor Daniel 2 spirit! Good programme though.
Does anybody think its not good?

[glow=red,2,300][/glow] I believe in the afterlife because I have always felt as If i have a presence around me looking after me all the time and i also saw a ghost when i was little. i am a great believer in fate and just feel that there is so much more to life than what we see everyday, but people just close their minds off to a lot of things. I also never feel quite normal though, because its hard to find places to go and meet with other people who share these beliefs.

I have had spirit in my life from a very early age, it's a feeling that you get, or a piece of knowledge, a dream, a spark of intuition, deja vu...It's really difficult to explain isn't it? When asked to put your belief into words! I've never not believed, even negative experiences are Spiritual because we believe in them and learn from them...I've never felt loneliness, even when I'm physically 'by myself', the Universe is always listening. I find that very comforting since I live alone!
Love conquers all

why do i believe well because i too have had the feeling of spiritual presence around me from an early age but its been at its most strongest when i feel im in any danger or in negative company i dont see as i think i would faint but i hear and sense spirit very clearly i have had alot of evidence too the otherside from family and friends whohave past over and the only time i see spirit from the other side is when i meditate then if they choose to give me a visit then i feel as if ive been taken to see them in a beautiful place sometimes garden or field of gold i then converse with them mentally and any messages they have i relay them to whoever their for and 80%the message is accurate so why do i believe well its because i have had proof that there is an other side and just wish every one else could be as confident as i. we are never alone a lot of people will think oh does that mean when i go to the loo or when im changing to put the record straight spirit are not interested in our bodily functions nor human form its our spirits that attract them nothing else. open up your mind. xxx

I believe in te after life, mainly because I have been at deaths door twice in my life and I have seen that there is a place waiting for us, it is a beautiful place, I have witnessed a Radiant light, a smell that I can only liken to masses of wallflowers, at least thats the only aroma that comes close, and I felt a wonderful feeling of peace and happiness that I have never experienced at any other time.
I have seen spitrit and spoken to them on numerous occasions, rest assured there is an afterlife, and it is a higher/superior plane, and the only way I can explain the higher plane is, what we are doing in the physical life is akin to driving with L plates on and learning all that we can before we are called to the spirit world, and when we reach that place the L plates come off, and we come to know all the things we are looking for in this life.
I'm sorry if all this is a bit profound, but my 2 Near Death Experiences have had such an impact on me that I just have to share it with all I can.....

I believe only in what I see, hear, feel. I don't understand why people believe when they have no proof or experience, of course I accept and respect their beliefs. An example of this is that I had contact with a priest and we become friends, once we were talking deeply about spiritual personal experiences and he told me that had no proof or any physical experience of his God but he believed, which gives him great comfort and this he relays to his flock. I on the other hand need proof to see, hear, etc, But then I was aware even as a child that their was a spirit realm. To give you an example my first guide appeared to me at five years old, of course at that time I didn't know about spirit guides I spoke to my parents and grandparents who told me it was a dream, even though I was so small I knew I had not dreamt it. my family were very low key Christians (meaning that they never went to church but they lived there lives as Christians, harming none). This did not stop the spirit realm contacting me so I learnt not to tell anyone as (at that time) I thought that I was somehow different from other people this was because I had no to talk too. Spirits would appear all the time, I would have precognitive dreams. I have had seen spirits subjectively and objectively and sometimes have been witnessed by others who were with at the time. These experiences have continued all my life which gives me proof that the spirit world are part of my physical life and part of my spiritual growth. It is a personal journey for all of us. If you are curious then why not visit your local spiritual church, where mediums are giving evidence of the after life every week, go and see what they are doing, some church's run groups were you can learn a lot about yourself and the spirit world, see if there is a beginners group and sit with others who like you want answers. Remember everyone can do this and you just have to ask but remember that you have to remove your own limitations and biggest is fear which stops a lot a people. Good luck in your search.
